Nathan was commissioned to write a large percussion ensemble work for the Aledo High School Percussion Ensemble, directed by Scott Stephens, for premiere at the 2024 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis, IN. The result was LUNA, LUNA.
Performance of DRAKENVUUR (PASIC)
The Birdville High School Percussion Ensemble, directed by Akira Robles, will perform DRAKENVUUR on their Showcase Concert at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention.
Performance of FALLEN STARS (PASIC)
The Blackman Middle School Percussion Ensemble, directed by David England, will perform FALLEN STARS on their Showcase Concert at the 2024 Percussive Arts Society International Convention.
Performance of RHYME OR REASON (PASIC)
Nathan’s percussion quintet RHYME OR REASON will be featured on the clinic “Your Ear Drum: The Most Important Instrument You Own” by John R. Beck and several University of North Carolina Professors, including Juan Álamo, Thomas Taylor, Eric Willie, and Amy Xin Yin, at the 2024 Percussive Arts Society International Convention.
Performance of BLACK RAINBOW (VA)
The Old Dominion University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Tyler Austin, will perform BLACK RAINBOW for 6 solo percussion & wind ensemble at the Virginia MEA Professional Development Conference in Richmond. Soloists include Professor David Walker & his ODU percussion students.

Die Bläserphilharmonie Thum, conducted by Thomas Conrad, will perform THROUGH AN OPEN DOOR on their Christmas concert at Volkshaus Thum in Saxony, Germany.
World Premiere of BE THAT OF THE WIND (Natchez, MS)
The Starkville High School Band, directed by Shawn Sullivan and Trenton Brown, will perform the world premiere of Be That of the Wind for woodwind quintet and percussion octet at the 2024 Mississippi Band Masters Clinic in Natchez, MS. The piece was commissioned by Starkville HS.

Guest Artist at Lancaster High School (NY)
Nathan will be a guest composer, conductor, and performer at Lancaster High School, outside Buffalo, NY. He will guest conduct his wind ensemble works Downtown Dash & Wingspan and will perform the second movement of his Concerto for Vibraphone & Wind Ensemble & Irish Washerwoman for solo xylophone & band.

Solo Recital (Greensboro, NC)
Nathan will be performing a solo marimba & vibraphone recital at Ambleside Gallery in downtown Greensboro, featuring a program of his arrangements and original compositions.
World Premiere of MULTIPLE MUSINGS (Flint, MI)
Nathan’s new collection of five graduated solos for multiple percussion, Multiple Musings, will be premiered at the Delaina Oberman Legacy Celebration, featuring Flint School of the Performing Arts students, faculty, and alumni. The collection was commissioned by the Flint Institute of Music to honor Delaina after she recently passed.

The Sugar Land Winds, conducted by Larry Matysiak and Rick Yancey, will perform Twitch for solo clarinet & symphonic band at the 2024 Texas Bandmasters Association Conference in San Antonio, featuring soloist Michael Isadore.

The Indiana Wind Symphony, conducted by Dr. Charles P. Conrad, will perform “Concerto for Vibraphone & Wind Ensemble,” featuring soloist Benjamin Blakketter.
National Conference of Percussion Pedagogy
Nathan will be attending & participating in the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy, for which he serves on the Boards of Advisors, at the University of Texas at Arlington.
World Premiere of THE HEROES AROUND US (PA)
The Mt. Lebanon Percussion Ensemble (PA), directed by Jeremy DeLuca, will perform the world premiere of The Heroes Around Us, which was written for the program to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Performance of TWITCH at Truman State University
Truman State University grad student Autumn Heath will perform TWITCH as clarinet soloist with the Truman State University Wind Symphony on the concerto competition winners concert.
Flying Pirate Half Marathon (OBX, NC)
Nathan will be running the Flying Pirate Half Marathon in the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Clinician for the Music for All National Festival
Nathan will be a Student Workshop Facilitator at the 2024 Music for All National Festival presenting sessions on music composition.

The Indiana University Symphonic Band, conducted by maestro Marcellus B. Brown, will perform “Through an Open Door,” which I wrote for MBB’s retirement from Boise State University.
Demondrae Thurman performs WHERE DREAMS DANCE at FSU (FL)
Demondrae Thurman will perform the world premiere of the euphonium/piano version of “Where Dreams Dance” on his guest artist recital at Florida State University.
Performance of CONCERTO FOR VIBRAPHONE at KMEA
The Fort Hays State University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Peter Lillpopp, will perform the second movement from “Concerto for Vibraphone & Wind Ensemble” (“Enchanted Light”_ at the KMEA In-Service Workshop in Wichita, KS. Ryan Pearson, Assistant Director of Bands & Director of Percussion at FHSU, will be the featured vibraphone soloist.
Guest Soloist & Clinician at UAB Percussion Festival
Nathan will present a clinic on composing for percussion and will perform his work “Halcyon Days” for solo marimba & percussion quartet with students from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
